A later Lancashire witchcraft case in 1634 shows how memory of the Pendle prosecutions could shape new accusations. During re-examination, testimony in the later case was linked to stories already circulating about the Malkin Tower gathering and the events of 1612.

For folklore history, this is significant because a famous prosecution had already become a narrative model within a generation. The earlier case did not merely preserve belief; its remembered story influenced how later allegations could be framed.
